#BlackHistoryToonz Day 3 & 4: Hip Hop Legends & NFL's Moment

Today's post I decided to combine my Illustration for yesterday and todays. The first paying homage to some Hip Hop Legends... Rakim, Big Daddy Kane & KRS-ONE.

Rakim:

"I start to think, and then I sink
Into the paper like I was ink
When I'm writing, I'm trapped in between the lines
I escape when I finish the rhyme"

William Michael Griffin Jr., better known by his
stage name Rakim (born January 28, 1968), is an American rapper. One half of golden age hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential and most skilled MCs of all time

Big Daddy Kane

"I get physical, mystical, very artistical...
Giving party people something funky to listen to."

Antonio Hardy (born September 10, 1968),
better known by his stage name Big Daddy Kane, is a Grammy Award-winning American rapper and actor who started his career in 1986 as a member of the rap collective the Juice Crew. He is widely considered to be one of the most influential and skilled MCs in hip hop.[The name Big Daddy Kane came from a variation on Caine, David Carradine's character from TV show Kung Fu and a character called "Big Daddy" Vincent Price played in the film Beach Party.

KRS-ONE

''I'm not saying I'm number one/ OOPS I'm sorry i lied/ I'M number 1,2,3,4, and 5''

Lawrence "Kris" Parker (born August 20, 1965), better known by his stage names KRS-One, and Teacha, is an American rapper and occasional producer from The Bronx, New York City, New York. KRS-One rose to prominence as part of the hip hop musicgroup Boogie Down Productions, which he formed with DJ Scott La Rock in the mid-1980s. Following the release of the group's debut album, Criminal Minded, La Rock was shot and killed, but KRS-One continued the group, effectively as a solo project. He began releasing records under his own name in 1993. KRS-One is politically active, having started the Stop the Violence Movement, after the death of Scott La Rock.

#BlackHistoryToonz Day 4: Colin Kaepernick

"I realize that men and women of the military go out and sacrifice their lives and put their selves in harm's way for my freedom of speech and my freedoms in this country, and my freedom to take a seat or take a knee, so I have the utmost respect for them, and I think what I did was taken out of context and spun a different way."

Colin Kaepernick was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1987. An athletic and mobile quarterback, Kaepernick attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where he set several school and college records. The San Francisco 49ers drafted Kaepernick in 2011, and he led the club to Super Bowl XLVII less than two years later. In 2016, Kaepernick drew attention for refusing to stand for the national anthem, a form of protest that was adopted by other players and became a hot-button political topic.
